TIPS KULIT DAN RAMBUT YANG CANTIK

Eat right: You are what you eat. A balanced diet with all the right nutrients in the right proportion is what we need. Home-cooked food, fresh fruits & vegetables and plenty of water is what we need to keep our skin healthy. Generally speaking, your diet should consist of 45-65% carbohydrates, 10-35% proteins and 20-35% fat. Certain fatty acids called omega 6 fatty acids have been found to be especially beneficial in keeping the skin young and fresh. These are found in soya, walnuts and fish. These are extremely good for your hair too.

Exercise regularly: You have heard it countless number of times. It is currently recommended that adults get at least 30-40 minutes of cardiovascular exercise daily. This improves the circulation to your skin, thus giving it a healthy glow. It also releases endorphins which make you feel good and glow from within.

Drink water: Sitting in our air conditioned offices, a lot of us forget to drink water. Despite the fact that 60% of our body is water, we fail to provide it with 2-3 liters of water every day. Having enough water helps your skin flush-out toxins and keeps it looking young and fresh.

Identify your skin type: To understand the type of products your skin needs, you would first need to identify your skin type. To do this, wash your face with a regular face-wash. After an hour, use a tissue to blot your T zone (i.e. the forehead and the nose). If there is no oil and the rest of your skin feels taut, you have dry skin. If there is no oil on the tissue and your skin feels normal, then there is some good news. You are lucky enough to have normal skin. If you face looks oily all over, you have oily skin. Finally, if there is some oil on the tissue and the rest of your skin feels normal, you have combination skin, which is the most common skin-type found in Asians.

Follow a routine: A simple routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing can go a long way in helping our skin look healthy and fresh. These products need to be chosen according to skin-type. While people with dry skin will need a creamy cleanser and a heavier moisturizer, people with oily skin can go for a gel based cleanser and oil free moisturizer. People with combination skin can go opt for a gel based cleanser and light moisturizing lotion. It is essential to remember that people with all skin types must use a moisturizer. It helps to restore the oils stripped off by soap and prevents hyper-activity of the oil-producing glands. This prevents pimples and keeps your skin looking supple and fresh.

Protect your skin from the sun: It is imperative that you protect your skin from the sun. The sun’s UV rays cause a lot of damage to the skin and predispose us to skin cancer. Choose your sun-block depending on your routine. If you spend all your time indoors, choose a sunblock with SPF 30. If you spend around 1-2 hours a day outside, choose a sunblock with SPF 40-50. If you spend more than 2 hours a day outside, your sunblock should have a SPF 60 and be PA+++.

Choose your makeup wisely: It is important that you keep your makeup to a minimum. Makeup tends to clog pores and predisposes us to breakouts. Choosing a good brand and keeping your skin type in mind is important when you select a product. Do not hesitate in trying the product before you buy it. It is also important that you remove your makeup before going to bed. It allows your skin to breathe and rejuvenate itself.
